Overview

Colorine is a company that specializes in indoor paint and paint color mixing. They own a physical and online store where they cater to people's painting needs and custom color requests.

Colorine would like to redesign their online store with additional features for an easy experience

The Challenge

Design an online store that will allow colorine to make sales and give their customers a great experience.

Add a page that helps the customer have a seamless color selection process. They should be able to take a picture of a room, open it on the webpage, and select the areas they want to paint.

Research and Deductions

The aim of the research is to understand the current state of the market and this is to help uncover the needs and frustrations of the customer to find the best way to appeal to them.

First, I had to familiarize myself with the direct competitors of colorine and their service delivery methods, some of them are;

  • Dulux Paint

  • Sherwin-Williams

  • Nippon Paint


After getting acquainted with these companies solutions, I noticed a couple of things which include;

  • Most paint stores either do not have the color visualiZer app or it is not functioning properly.

  • There is no suitable CTA like ' Add to cart ' or ' Add to wishlist ' from the color visualizer page after finding a color of choice.

  • No blog for trending items and 'how-to' sections for regular homeowners unprofessional painters.

  • Many of them do not have the option of finding a professional painter nearby.

  • Users are not able to request unavailable colors, especially for large quantities.


Then I did a competitive analysis amongst these companies and noticed these strengths and weaknesses
